Officers said Olvey was found shot just after 2 a.m. in the 2400 block of Piedmont Road, near a busy shopping center near the Lindbergh transit hub. He was taken to Grady Hospital, where he later died from a gunshot wound.

Olvey worked as a parking valet at a nightclub on Piedmont Road, NE, near Lindbergh Drive. While at work, Atlanta Police said he saw King trying to break into a vehicle, and Olvey then intervened. That’s when police said King shot and killed Olvey and took off.

He graduated from Kennesaw State University in December 2022. He was pursuing a career in financial planning and was expected to soon accept a job. He was excited, his mother said, that his career in finance was just about to begin.

“He had a bright future ahead of him,” his mother Autumn Ernst previously said.

King was taken into custody after a reward increase was announced earlier this week. No other details were released by police about King's arrest Wednesday.
