ATLANTA — Residents and others at Atlanta's busy Atlantic Station were jarred Wednesday night by a heavy police response after shots were fired in the area.
According to police, officers responded to the Twelve Midtown Hotel at 261 17th St. NW after the call of shots fired around 11 p.m.
They said the suspect, now identified as 30-year-old Otis Rashad Laws, had shot at a vehicle in the area.
"Mr. Laws was apprehended near the scene and a firearm was recovered," police said.
Laws has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
