Here's what we know.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Officials are investigating after a doorbell camera captured a person appearing to firebomb a home overnight in DeKalb County.

The fire occurred around 3 a.m. in the 3400 block of Springside Drive in the Candler-McAfee neighborhood.

DeKalb Fire said units responded to the home after a report of a residential house fire, but no active fire was found when they arrived. A fire investigator determined an unknown person appeared to throw a flaming object through a window of the home, causing minor interior fire damage.

Fire officials confirmed a resident was home at the time of the fire but was not injured.

“All of a sudden, there was an explosion, and then there was something that came through the window,” said the homeowner, who asked us to withhold his identity.

Although no one was hurt, neighbors remain on edge.

“It’s shocking that a Molotov cocktail would be thrown that is shocking in this area that’s hard to believe in this neighborhood,” neighbor Fredrick Gray said.

In the meantime, the homeowner, who was sleeping on the couch when the explosive device came through the window, says he no longer feels safe at home.

“It’s something I’m not used to; it makes me feel uncomfortable, for one thing," said the homeowner, who asked us to withhold his identity.

The incident remains under investigation. There is no word on a potential suspect.
