ATLANTA — Four people were shot overnight, leaving one dead, on Auburn Avenue, just a few blocks away from Grady Hospital.
This happened just before midnight Monday, according to Atlanta Police.
Thus far, we've learned this happened outside a business that had not yet opened. 11Alive crews spotted a sign indicating a club or lounge would be coming soon, and people were there for a pre-opening meeting.
Atlanta Police have told us that a man associated with the business came out to walk to his car and found three others trying to break into it. When he tried confronting that group, they started shooting.
Officers have also told us that the person killed was one of the suspects trying to break into the car. The other three victims are apparently at Grady in stable condition.
At this time, no one's identity has been revealed by police.
