SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A babysitter and her boyfriend pleaded guilty on Monday to the 2020 murder of 2-year-old Fallon Fridley, according to records from the Fulton County Superior Court.
Records show Kirstie Flood pleaded guilty to charges including murder, felony murder, cruelty to children in the first-degree, aggravated sexual battery, cruelty to children in the second-degree, tampering with evidence and false statements. She has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Meanwhile, records show Meyers pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He has been sentenced to 15 years.
It all started when Sandy Springs Police launched an investigation on Dec. 9, 2020, after they received a call about an "unresponsive child" at an apartment on Monterey Parkway. When officers arrived, they found the 2-year-old, and she was rushed to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where she died.
Investigators learned Fallon's babysitter, Kirstie Flood, had been watching and caring for Fallon at the time. An autopsy later revealed the toddler had suffered "severe injuries" while in Flood's care.

Flood was taken into custody by authorities and charged in connection with Fallon's death. Then, over a month later, Flood's boyfriend, Jeffrey Meyers, was also arrested in the toddler's death.
In an update, Sandy Springs Police said Fallon was "brutally beaten" and died from "massive trauma."
"This case has affected so many members of this department as so many had a hand in investigating and prosecuting the case. It has been a great success between our department and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, specifically the Crimes Against Children Unit, with how well we worked together. Through our diligence and hard work, we were able to bring closure and a semblance of peace to the family," Sandy Springs Police wrote in a social media post.
