ATLANTA — An argument over a basketball resulted in a shooting on Sunday night, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
It happened on July 14 in the city’s Edgewood neighborhood. Officers were called regarding a person shot at Hardee Street around 11:27 p.m. When police arrived, they said a man was found shot in the stomach.
Police said a fight started between two men about a basketball. According to officers, the ball repeatedly landed on the victim's property, hitting his grill. The argument escalated, and he was shot.
Grady EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. The victim's current condition has not been disclosed.
Officers are still working to learn the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
