31-year-old behind bars for allegedly shooting, killing man in Scottdale: deputies

The deadly shooting happened on Jan. 28, 2024, on Pressley Drive, where police found 39-year-old DeAngelo Ivey.

A 31-year-old man is now behind bars on Monday after a deadly shooting two months ago in Scottdale, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

Brandon Hatton, 31, is charged with malice murder in the incident. He was arrested at the Sleep Inn on Fairington Road in Lithonia, the sheriff's office said.

The arrest stems from a shooting on Jan. 28, 2024, on Pressley Drive, where police found 39-year-old DeAngelo Ivey dead from a gunshot wound, law enforcement said.

Hatton was taken to the DeKalb County Jail and is being held without bond. 

It is unclear how the deadly shooting transpired.
