Carjacking leads to 40-year-old man being shot multiple times in Atlanta, police say

APD said the investigation revealed that the 40-year-old victim was being carjacked when the situation escalated into gunfire.

ATLANTA — A 40-year-old man was rushed to Grady Hospital on Friday evening after police said he was shot multiple times while being carjacked in Atlanta's Venetian Hills neighborhood.

Atlanta Police officers responded to 1489 Campbellton Road SW on Friday around 7:30 p.m. to a call of a person shot. They found the man with several gunshot wounds when they got there.

APD said the investigation revealed that the 40-year-old victim was being carjacked when the situation escalated into gunfire. The suspect then drove off in the victim's car after the shooting, police said.

The man was rushed to the hospital, where police said he was being treated.

Police are still looking for the suspect in this case.
