CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A 69-year-old man accused of shooting and killing a Clayton County mother and injuring another woman in 2022 was arrested on Friday, according to police.
Clayton County Police Department said that Charles Wise was taken into custody not far from Reno, Nevada. Police confirmed Saturday that Wise faces charges of malice murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The shooting happened in July 2022 at a home on Richard Road. When police arrived, two women were found shot inside with "multiple gunshot wounds." Monique Miles, a 34-year-old mother, was found dead, and the other victim was taken to the hospital after police said they "applied a tourniquet and provided other life-saving measures."
Friends at the time of the shooting said the three lived together and got into an argument, but police have not provided any updates on a motive.
