ATLANTA — A Clayton County man is now in custody 16 hours after he allegedly shot and killed a woman in the area of Brookwood Circle on Saturday.
Clayton County Police officers identified the murder suspect as Kenneth Titus Washington. Authorities said he will be extradited back from Michigan to metro Atlanta.
Detectives say warrants out for Washington's arrest include charges for malice murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, kidnapping, theft by taking, as well as possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Clayton County Sheriff's Office and Clayton County Police Department alerted surrounding states that Washington was armed, dangerous and attempting to flee the state.
Nearly 16 hours after the woman was found dead, officers from Michigan's Southfield Police Department took Washington into custody.
It is unclear when Washington will be extradited to Georgia, but police said he will face charges in Clayton County.
