MABLETON, Ga. — Editor's Note: This story originally said police were looking for a suspect, but they have since retracted that statement on Friday.

Police are no longer looking for a suspect involved in a deadly Mableton crash on Tuesday,  according to Cobb County Police, after further investigation.

The crash happened on Veterans Memorial Highway at Puckett Drive, where the original report from officers said a man riding a motorcycle had died after a driver hit a woman on a bike.

That statement was retraced on Friday, with police updating the public stating that the motorcyclist, identified as 38-year-old Christopher Johnson, hit the 32-year-old bicyclist, causing the woman to fall off her bike.

The bike then landed in the westbound lanes, where a vehicle hit the bike only, adding that it was the impact that ultimately killed Johnson.

Authorities added that the driver stopped and checked their vehicle to ensure they did not hit anything else before leaving the scene.

The woman is at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with "serious injuries," Cobb County Police said.

No other details were released.
