Teen arrested, charged in deadly Memorial Day shooting in Athens, police say

16-year-old Zyquavious Thomas now faces felony murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault charges. According to police, he will be charged as an adult.

ATHENS, Ga. — A 20-year-old man is now dead, and a teen is behind bars after a deadly shooting at an Athens apartment complex on Memorial Day, according to authorities. 

Athens Clarke County Police posted on Facebook about the deadly incident. 

16-year-old Zyquavious Thomas now faces felony murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault charges. According to police, he will be charged as an adult.  

It happened late Monday evening, around 10:25 p.m. Police got a call about the shooting at the Rolling Ridge apartments on Rolling Ridge Drive.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Cameron Manago, 20, shot. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
