Man found shot to death in driveaway, another critically hurt after shooting: South Fulton Police

South Fulton Police Department officers are investigating the shooting near Elkmont Ridge SW and Apache Street SW, just off Cascade Palmetto Highway.

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — A man is dead, and another person is critically hurt after a shooting in a South Fulton neighborhood early Tuesday morning, according to police. 

Officials are urging drivers and residents to avoid the area as the investigation unfolds. Roads are blocked in Elkmont Ridge SW, near Apache Street SW, just off Cascade Palmetto Highway, as police continue their investigation. 

Authorities said it all began when they received a person shot call around 3:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Elkmont Ridge. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man dead with a gunshot wound in the driveway and the second victim injured in the living room of another home at the 2700 block of Elmont Ridge.

The second victim was taken to the hospital critically injured, according to authorities.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
