COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man is behind bars and facing charges after a 27-year-old was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Mableton on Sunday night, Cobb County Police said.
David Wells, 26, is facing felony murder, aggravated assault, third-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tampering with evidence charges.
The shooting happened at the Mableton Ridge Apartments on Mableton Parkway around 9 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Namarri Shackleford shot. She was taken to a local hospital where, despite attempts to save her life, she later died, according to police.
Wells is currently in custody.
