ATLANTA — An investigation is underway following a deadly shooting on Thursday morning, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Police were dispatched to Troy Street in northwest Atlanta regarding a person down around 8 a.m. near a possibly abandoned apartment complex. Once officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man shot to death in the street.
Atlanta Homicide Commander Andrew Smith said they have spoken with several neighbors, and homicide investigators are on the scene.
Smith added that they are working to identify the victim.
Not much information has been released about what led up to the shooting, and police haven't identified anyone involved at this time.
