STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — A man was found guilty of murdering his brother over a fan, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office on Thursday.

The release said that officers were called around 4 a.m. to a home on Lost Colony Court in Stone Mountain on December 31 regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, 28-year-old Westley Hill was found shot on the living room floor.

Investigators were told later by witnesses that 31-year-old Quentin Hill had shot his brother, Westley Hill, and then drove off in his mother's car. Police said that Westley Hill's mother was inside at the time of the shooting, and "she told investigators that the brothers had a dispute over a fan."

"His mother questioned him and told him that it wasn’t that serious," the release from the DA said in part.

Quentin Hill, according to the report, then walked outside. When he came back inside, Westley Hill's mother said she heard gunshots, followed by her son screening.

He was shot twice and later died.

It wasn't until February 5 that officers saw the car Quentin Hill had fled back at the residence. When they spoke with Quentin Hill's mother, she said he'd "left the car at a different location and that she had been driving it," adding that he was not home and that she didn't know where he was.

On March 29, after his mother urged him to do so, Quentin Hill turned himself in. He was June 14 found guilty on the following charges: Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
