DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Two people are in custody after a shooting broke out in the parking lot of a DeKalb County elementary school.
School officials said it happened Monday night at Narvie Harris Elementary School on McGill Drive.
According to a spokesperson for the DeKalb County School District, DeKalb school police officers and detectives responded to the school's parking lot around 9:40 p.m.
Details from the district were limited, but a spokesperson said three people were hospitalized following the shooting; they are stable.
The district said two suspects were arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Their names were not released.
While the investigation is still going on, the district said DeKalb County School Police will lead the investigation, as the shooting happened on school property.
The school, like all in Georgia, is closed to students and staff until April 24 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
