DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman is now dead after she was found shot to death in a crashed car near a Walmart parking lot in DeKalb County early Friday morning.
Family members identified the woman as Sabrina Carson.
"I love Sabrina. That's my heart. I have five kids that I don't know how I'm going to break the news to them," said Brian Johnson, who told 11Alive Carson was his aunt. "She's just one of those people that will give you their shirt, literally give it to you off of her back. She didn't have much, but she'll give everything she got."
It happened around the 8400 block of Mall Parkway on a road near Walmart and the Mall at Stonecrest. Part of the store's parking lot is closed off.
According to the DeKalb County Police Department, officers responded to the area around 7:30 a.m. after a report of a crash. Upon arrival, police found a vehicle off the road that had struck a light pole and power box.
Police said inside the car, they found the woman who had been shot multiple times.
A witness at the scene told officers they saw a man running from the car after the crash.
Johnson said he believes the man the witness saw is in a relationship with Carson.
"He lived with her. He was seen leaving with her this morning," Johnson said. "And I have someone that saw the whole thing happen. And they also identified him."
There is no word on a suspect at this time. DeKalb County detectives are investigating the incident.
