DULUTH, Ga. — The Duluth Police Department is still seeking help to identify a woman found dead almost a year ago.
The police department took to social media on Monday to renew attention to the case and ask for the public's assistance. The woman was found dead in the city on June 2, 2023. Despite ongoing efforts, her identity remains unknown.
According to police, she is believed to have been an African American woman between 25 and 35. She is also between 5'1'' and 5'5''. She had several body piercings and an unidentified tattoo on her back, police said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation crafted the below sketch of the woman in an effort to help identify her.
11Alive previously reported last July that detectives were receiving tips from across the country about the woman. They were even combing through nationwide missing persons cases to see if there was any connection.
"She’s someone’s sister, maybe. Maybe someone’s mother, maybe someone’s daughter. If it were my daughter missing, I’d want closure. And we try our best to get closure for the victim’s family,” Duluth Police Lieutenant Scott Smith previously said last July.
Anyone with information that could help identify this woman is asked to contact the Duluth Police Department at 770-497-5000 or email tips@duluthpd.com.
