DUNWOODY, Ga. — A man accused of groping at least four women and touching several others is now behind bars, according to Dunwoody Police. This comes after the department asked for the public's assistance in identifying the man on Tuesday.
Police say 20-year-old Darin Pyatt was arrested overnight and is in custody in Fulton County. He is charged with criminal trespass and sexual assault, according to jail records.
Pyatt has allegedly targeted women in the Perimeter area of Dunwoody since June of 2023. Police said the most recent attack Pyatt is accused of happened last week in the parking garage at Perimeter Mall.
"He actually followed a female and grabbed her buttocks," Sgt. Michael Cheek said.
Sgt. Cheek also said Pyatt is accused of doing the same thing inside Perimeter Mall and over at the Target next to the mall.
However, he said that's not all he's alleged to have done to his victims.
"He came up behind a female and grabbed her breasts," Sgt. Cheek said.
Sgt. Cheek said surveillance video from the mall helped them recently identify Pyatt as the suspect in these incidents. The police said Pyatt was last seen wearing a letterman style jacket with the words, 'Chicago Music House' written across the back of the jacket.
In all the incidents, Sgt. Cheek pointed out that the suspect has not tried to hide the crimes.
"It's very brazen and very bold of him to do," he explained.
Sgt. Cheek said they want to find the suspect before there is an opportunity to escalate the incidents.
It's unclear if Pyatt is accused of committing any similar crimes in other jurisdictions, but Sgt. Cheek said they're working with surrounding agencies to find out and track him down.
"How bold he is, and how brazen he is to do this in such a public arena with people around, we just want him found," Sgt. Cheek said.
If anyone has information on Pyatt's whereabouts, they are asked to contact the case detective at Dunwoody Police at 678-382-6925 or by email at Robert.Ehlbeck@dunwoodyga.gov.
