Police thought it was a road-rage shooting, then self-defense. Now, the shooter is charged with murder.

After a "detailed investigation into this case," police identified 20-year-old Enmanuel Antigua Paulino as the shooter.

LILBURN, Ga. — Police first thought it was a road-rage shooting. Then they thought it was a case of self-defense after a man was robbed.

Now, Gwinnett Police say the shooter is charged with two counts of felony murder in a strange case last week in Lilburn. They say it was not self-defense.

After a "detailed investigation into this case," police identified 20-year-old Enmanuel Antigua Paulino as the shooter. He was taken into custody on Friday and booked in the Gwinnett County Jail.

Police believe that the group of five in the vehicle met up with Paulino for the sale of a cell phone on Oct. 12 at 950 Indian Trail Road at around 10:30 p.m.

The occupants initially told police that they were victims of road rage

The three occupants of the car who were not shot have also been charged with felony murder and criminal attempt at robbery. All three were arrested and are in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Additional charges against the trio are possible.

They are identified as Harry Richardson, 20, Anthoney Esquero, 18, and Kevin Gallardo, 17.
