ATLANTA — A father was shot and killed in front of his children on Wednesday night, according to reports from police and the victim's family.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. at a Chevron gas station on Campbellton Road SW, according to Atlanta Police Department. The victim's sister, who's asked to remain anonymous, said it all started from a dispute when her brother went inside the store to make a purchase; APD said that the argument was shown on security footage.
"He did it in front of his kids," his sister said. "We have to live with this. His baby mother will have to live with this."
She said he was a father of two kids. The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified him as 25-year-old Jotavious Favors.
Police said Favors was shot multiple times and that they were looking for two suspects driving a blue Jeep Compass. The sister of the victim added that her brother was not armed.
"He wasn't armed. He was not aware. He was just going in the store to make a purchase," she said.
Investigators said they do plan to release more information as they continue to piece together the events leading up to the shooting, such as if the victim knew the suspects.
In an update, Atlanta Police said they are looking for at least two persons of interest, pictured below, in connection to the shooting.
