Atlanta man charged in cold case murder of his young son 20 years later, records show

ATLANTA — An Atlanta man has been arrested in the 20-year-old cold case murder of his own son, according to arrest records obtained by 11Alive.

On April 29, 2004, 3-year-old Christopher Houston Jr., who was lovingly known as "Lil Chris," was found dead with blunt force trauma to the head at a home in the 700 block of Neal Drive NW near Atlanta's Bankhead neighborhood.

For the past 20 years, the little boy's family has worked with law enforcement to help seek justice and find his killer.

Now, years later, there has been an arrest made in connection to Christopher's killing. Booking records show that Christopher Houston Sr. was arrested and charged with murder and cruelty to children in the first degree in connection to the case from April 29, 2004, when his son was allegedly killed.

Arrest records also showed an extensive list of charges against Houston Sr., including rape, child molestation, sodomy, aggravated child molestation and others.

11Alive has reached out to obtain warrants for Houston Sr.'s arrest.
