LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — A man at a Lawrenceville bakery was shot and killed in the parking lot on Saturday morning, according to police.
Lawrenceville Police Department said it happened in the Fezjic Euro Bakery's parking lot on Scenic Highway before 7 a.m. When officers arrived, 37-year-old Ervin Fejzic was found dead.
Some residents we spoke to in the Lawrenceville neighborhood say they are shaken up to hear the news of this deadly shooting.
One man we spoke to says he comes to this gas station and this bakery all the time, and nothing ever happens over here.
“This area here is good! You rarely see wrecks over here. I was on my way to a meeting and saw lots of police cars but didn’t stop," Kenny Thompson said.
We knocked on the door of the bakery to try to talk with someone and encountered two people coming out.
One said the victim was her brother.
“I’m sorry we’re not in the right state of mind right now."
A store clerk inside the Chevron station right next to the bakery said Fejzic’s mother ran inside and asked him to call 911.
This case has the community rattled, including Thompson.
“These people right now today, their minds are just going crazy. I don’t know if it's drugs or whatever," he said.
Other residents we spoke with say that this family-owned bakery has been in the community for at least 20 years, and the people who own it are very kind.
