MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- A former agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) who was booked on child molestation charges has been denied bond.

A Bibb County magistrate judge made the ruling Wednesday afternoon - one day after Charles Woodall, 34, was taken into custody.

Bibb County Sheriff's Office officials said Woodall worked in the Milledgeville GBI office from December of 2011 until he resigned in October.

Bibb County District Attorney David Cooke held a news conference Tuesday and said Woodall is accused of molesting and showing obscene material to three middle school boys since 2005.

He's charged with nine counts of child molestation, six counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors, and one count of violation of oath of office, according to GBI Public Affairs Director Scott Dutton.

11Alive's sister station 13WMAZ confirmed the church where he met the boys was Northway Church on Zebulon Road.

Megan DeLong, a spokesperson for Northway, sent the following statement and declined further comment:

The accused individual left our congregation several years ago to pursue his career with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Our church encourages individuals with any information regarding this case to contact the proper authorities.

Please understand that the church's comments on this matter must be limited so that we can fully support and protect the integrity of the investigation by law enforcement and the privacy of affected families.

Of course, any family concerned about their child's experience at Northway Church is welcome to contact a member of the ministry staff for further support and resources.
