NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection to the murder of an 18-year-old woman in Newton County, the sheriff's office announced.

Deputies said 19-year-old Caryon Grier of Conyers was arrested on Wednesday in connection to the July 21 murder of Da'Menica Roddy.

According to an incident report, law enforcement responded to a hospital on July 21, where they discovered that there were three victims in this crime: two men and one woman who were in a car at 11230 Highway 36. The men said that an unknown vehicle pulled up next to them in the parking lot of that location and shot at their vehicle. When the shooting stopped, they realized the woman had been shot and drove her to the hospital.

Grier's arrest follows the earlier arrests of three other suspects in August. The previously arrested suspects are:

• Tirell Tommie, 19, of Covington - (arrested on August 21, 2024)

• Israel Richardson, 19, of Covington (arrested August 21, 2024)

• Savion Walker, 19, of Covington (arrested August 23, 2024)

All four suspects are facing charges of murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm. The three suspects arrested in August are also charged with false statements or writings.

They are all currently being held at the Newton County Detention Center.
