ATLANTA — A north Georgia man was recently arrested for his role in the Capitol riot that took place on January 6, 2021.
Newly released court documents allege 31-year-old Zylas Mark Hamilton posted pictures and video of himself inside the Capitol as the riot was taking place, only to then leave further evidence all over social media talking about his actions.
Hamilton is thus far the 30th person with ties to Georgia to be arrested in the January 6 investigation.
He was arrested Friday and charged with four misdemeanors, including disorderly conduct and demonstrating inside the Capitol.
One of the social media conversations used as evidence features someone suggesting Hamilton remove his posts or he could be prosecuted.
Hamilton merely replied, "I'll die or do 20 years before my kids grow up in the country these people are trying to create."
At this time, it is unclear what his specific sentencing will be.
