ATLANTA — Police have made an arrest after a theft call uncovered a cleaning cart - and later a person - somewhere they shouldn't have been inside Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police were called to the hospital on Nov. 19 to reports that a hospital employee's iPad and wallet had been stolen from a secure room. The employee said janitorial staff never come into the room - but somehow a cleaning cart ended up there.
So, police began looking over hospital security cameras and soon found a man pushing a cart through the hospital. Security staff determined the man didn't work there.
The next day, officers learned that a man named Thomas Miller had been arrested for loitering inside another hospital and had been arrested outside of Atlanta. Police determined that he was the same person caught on security cameras inside Grady.
Warrants have been secured for Miller on charges of theft and prowling. Officers later found that he had many previous arrestes for crimes that included robbery.
