GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A man is now dead after a shooting near the woods behind a gas station late Sunday night, according to Gwinnett County Police.
It happened just after 9 p.m. when police were called to the area for a person shot call near a Shell gas station on 4840 Jimmy Carter Blvd. When police got on the scene, they found a man who had been shot multiple times.
Authorities said officers tried lifesaving measures, but the man died.
Gwinnett County Police Homicide investigators arrived on the scene, where they learned that a suspect had shot the victim.
An 11Alive crew went to the scene shortly after the shooting and obtained surveillance footage from the gas station. The graphic footage shows moments leading up to the shooting. The apparent victim then falls to the ground. The alleged shooter appears to emerge from behind the tree, firing more shots at the apparent victim.
Law enforcement is interviewing possible witnesses and gathering evidence to learn more about what happened.
