The 29-year-old officer was charged with battery and violation of oath of office on June 4 and taken to the Hapeville Police Department.

HAPEVILLE, Ga. — A Hapeville officer was arrested after Georgia Bureau of Investigation looked into a use of force incident, according to the police department.

The 29-year-old officer was charged with battery and violation of oath of office on June 4 and taken to the Hapeville Police Department. Police said on June 3, the officer responded to a call where he arrested a man. During that arrest, the officer "repeatedly used a Taser on the man in a manner that was not consistent with the training and policy of the police department."

When the police department was notified of the incident, it asked the GBI to investigate. The officer in question is now booked at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
