ATLANTA — A man was shot and killed early Friday morning in northwest Atlanta after confronting a suspect who was allegedly breaking into his car, police said.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 1040 Huff Rd NW around 12:17 a.m., where reports came in stating someone was shot. Authorities said they received the initial call just two minutes earlier, at 12:15 a.m.
Police said the victim approached the suspect when he noticed someone attempting to break into his car. That’s when the suspect opened fire, fatally shooting the victim. The suspect fled the scene and is not in custody.
The name of the victim has not yet been released. Police are actively investigating the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
