TRION, Ga. — An inmate’s death at Hay’s State Prison in Trion is being investigated as a murder.
Marion Luke was assaulted by another inmate on Jan. 17 just before noon, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was taken to a medical unit of the prison, where he died while waiting for emergency responders.
Luke was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2014 for aggravated assault in DeKalb County. The other inmate involved has not been identified.
The Georgia Department of Corrections is investigating Luke’s death.
