BUFORD, Ga. — A fight turned deadly at a Gwinnett County home on Wednesday, according to police.
Gwinnett County Police Department was called to a home on Ivy Birch Branch around 1:45 a.m., where the caller stated that she heard loud noises and a person "grunting for help."
When officers arrived, they looked around until they noticed lights on at a home and approached it. When the door was answered, police said one person looked like he'd been in a fight.
That's when Gwinnett Police said they checked the home and found a man dead.
Officers did not state how the man died, but detectives believe that the incident started as an argument and escalated from there.
The believed suspect was detained and being interviewed by detectives, police said.
Detectives believe this was a domestic incident and are currently not looking for any additional suspects. The victim’s name will be released once the family is notified.
