Johns Creek mayor charged with simple battery in domestic incident

Police said Mayor Mike Bodker was arrested and taken to the Alpharetta Jail without incident.

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker was arrested on simple battery charges following an alleged domestic incident on Sunday morning, police said.

According to a Johns Creek police report, officers responded to a home in the Estates at Wellington subdivision at about 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, according to a release from Johns Creek Communications Director Bob Mullen, officers spoke to both parties involved in the domestic incident and were able to identify the primary aggressor as the mayor. 

The police report states that responding officers were able to obtain testimonial evidence from both parties at the home before they placed Bodker under arrest.

Bodker was charged with one count of simple battery, according to the police report, and transported to the Alpharetta Jail without incident.

Mullen said that the city of Johns Creek will provide additional details as they become available and that the case would be adjudicated through the Fulton County court system.
