JONESBORO, Ga. — Jonesboro Police Department officers are investigating what led to the shooting death of a 67-year-old man.
Police found Coybern Jones shot in the neck on Oct. 30 along Johnson Street by the intersection of Woodland Drive.
"Our dedicated team of law enforcement professionals is working diligently to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together the events leading up to this incident," the department said in a news release.
Authorities said it is an isolated event and that the community's safety remains their top priority.

"We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Coybern Jones during this difficult time. The Jonesboro Police Department is committed to seeking justice and ensuring that our community remains a safe and secure place for all," police said in a statement.
