ATLANTA — A 16-year-old girl with ties to Atlanta died in a stabbing last Friday night that occurred in Orange County, Florida, local authorities there said.

A second 16-year-old girl who was stabbed at the incident, which happened at a location on South Goldenroad Road just outside Orlando's city limits. That victim survived.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida did not have specific details available on what exactly led up to the stabbing, saying deputies responded around 11 p.m. on March 15 and that the investigation is "active and ongoing."
A GoFundMe started for Williams' family has raised nearly $34,000 from an original $30,000 goal so far.
"Our hearts were shattered by the devastating loss of Kennedy, a vibrant 16 year old girl who was tragically taken from us far too soon," it says. "Kennedy's life was cut short in a senseless act of violence leaving her family, friends, and community grappling with unimaginable grief."
The fundraiser is looking to raise money for transporting Kennedy back to Georgia, "as well as providing support for future expenses as they navigate life without their beloved daughter."
"Kennedy's bright spirit touched the lives of all that knew her, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled," the GoFundMe says. "...Kennedy's memory will forever live on in our hearts, and your kindness will help her family find strength and solace in the midst of their grief."
