COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 26-year-old has been arrested after an employee was shot at a Kennesaw area hotel early Monday morning, police said.
According to Cobb County Police, it happened at the Quality Inn near the Town Center shopping development around 2 a.m.
Authorities said in Wednesday update that the 48-year-old employee called 911 reporting they had been shot. The department said officers responded to the hotel and found the employee who was then taken to nearby hospital. Police added the employee was expected to recover.
After canvassing the area near the hotel, a "vigilant citizen" called 911 to report a suspicious person just hours later. That's when police arrested the suspect in their hotel room.
It is unclear why the person shot the employee.
The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the department at 770-499-4111.
