Lawrenceville teen allegedly kidnaps minor, accused of child molestation, statutory rape and more: Police

Athens-Clarke County Police responded to the 200 block of Highland Park Drive regarding a minor being kidnapped on Monday morning.

ATHENS, Ga. — A 19-year-old alleged kidnapping and statutory rape suspect is in custody following a series of hit-and-run accidents in Athens, police said. 

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, officers responded to the 200 block of Highland Park Drive regarding a minor being kidnapped shortly before 5 a.m. on Monday. 

During the investigation, officers found the suspect's vehicle on Westchester Drive after a series of hit-and-run accidents. Police found the minor, and they were taken to the hospital.

After a preliminary investigation, officers took the suspect, 19-year-old Jehron Keys of Lawrenceville, into custody. Police said that Keys is being charged with kidnapping, child molestation, statutory rape, reckless driving, three counts of hit and run, failure to maintain lane and unsafe tires.
