ATLANTA — Police say they have secured warrants for the arrest of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting that unfolded in the parking lot of Lenox Square earlier this month.
Atlanta Police say the suspect, who is not being identified by police at this time, is being charged with felony murder, and the department's Fugitive Unit is actively working to arrest him.
The search for the suspect comes in the wake of the March 8 shooting, which left 31-year-old Thuan Nguyen dead.
It was on that evening when officers responded to find the victim, from Tennessee, dead in the parking lot with a gunshot to the head.
According to police, the victim had gotten into an argument over a parking spot with four individuals. Police said the four entered the mall, but later they returned to the lot, and the dispute continued. At that time, police said one of the people pulled a gun and shot Nguyen in the head. They then jumped into a car to get away, but crashed in the parking lot. As they ran off, an off-duty Cobb County Police officer caught one of them.
Police questioned him, but later determined he was not the one responsible for the shooting and let him go.
Investigators later released images of three other persons of interest connected to the shooting. It's unclear at this time if this suspect whom authorities have secured warrants for is one of those three.

In the wake of the shooting, the fourth in a string of recent similar events, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields sent a warning to any would-be criminals, saying police would not let "lawlessness" take over.
