NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Newton County Sheriff's Office arrested a middle school student Monday for allegedly bringing a toy gun onto campus.
The incident happened at Liberty Middle School. The sheriff's office said the 12-year-old is charged with possession of a weapon in a school safety zone, which is a felony.
The case is being turned over to the Juvenile Court System.
No other details were released about the student's case.
