MARIETTA, Ga. — Bond was denied for Leroy Hinton, who is charged with the murder of Marietta middle school teacher Jason Ogbomoh, after he appeared in Cobb County court Thursday for a bond hearing related to separate misdemeanor charges preceding the tragic shooting last November.
During the hearing, Hinton's attorney argued that his client has been in custody for a longer duration than the potential sentence for the misdemeanor charges in Cobb County. Hinton was previously granted a $150,000 bond in the murder case related to Ogbomoh's death.

Brittany Hill, who claims to have had romantic involvement with both Hinton and Ogbomoh, was present in court and expected to testify. Hill revealed that she feels apprehensive about Hinton potentially being granted bond and released from jail.
"The anxiety just seems to grow and it seems to just not stop at all," Hill said. "To me personally, it seems like an easy decision."
Hill's appearance in court today was tied to an incident involving Hinton sharing a sexually explicit video of her without consent, which led to criminal charges in Cobb County. Hill expressed concerns about her safety if Hinton were to be released.
Hinton's attorney maintains that his client acted in self-defense in the murder case. Hinton had previously posted bond in the Fulton County case related to Ogbomoh's murder.
The judge overseeing the bond hearing announced Hinton's bond was denied Friday, a decision which was eagerly awaited by both Hinton and Hill's family.
