Gwinnett County Police are searching for a man they believe is becoming increasingly more violent in his attacks on a neighborhood in unincorporated Snellville.
He is accused of robbing food delivery drivers with a handgun and also breaking into an elderly woman’s home demanding money and sex, according to police.
On three separate occasions, the suspect is accused of calling in food delivery orders to be delivered to several homes in one neighborhood – on Wellington Hills Way, Wellington Hills Lane and King Richard Court.
Police said he would meet the delivery driver at their car armed with a handgun and demand cash, wallet and cell phones. One driver was assaulted by the suspect when he said he didn’t have any cash to give him, according to Gwinnett County Police.
On Dec. 2, he is accused of forcing his way into the home of a 73-year-old woman who lives in the neighborhood. Police said he knocked on her front door and, when she opened, he pushed his way in and closed the door behind him demanding money. When she told him she didn’t have much money, he demanded a sexual act, according to police. When she denied, he placed the gun to her head and asked her “if she wanted to die,” then ultimately performed a sex act on himself, police said.
According to police, he rummaged through her purse and stole what little cash she had. When she started to cry, police said he gave her a tissue and promised he’d pay her back. He tried to download an app on her phone and said he would wire her money, according to police. The download didn’t work and he eventually left her home.
“There’s no doubt that the suspect is escalating his violence towards his victims,” Gwinnett County Police said in a statement. “It is imperative that he is identified and captured as soon as possible so he doesn’t target anyone else.”
The suspect is described as a black male with light complexion, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. In the crimes, he wore dark clothing and was armed with a handgun.
The neighborhood where all of the crimes occurred is off Bethany Church Road near Stone Mountain Highway.
He called in food deliveries from China House II, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut.
