Man arrested for operating chop shop in northeast Ga. had charges elsewhere

A tip led deputies to a property where the chopped-up remains of a stolen car from DeKalb County were also found.

JEFFERSON, Ga. -- A man with a list of charges across metro Atlanta has been arrested for running a chop shop in Jefferson, Georgia authorities said Wednesday.

According to a report from Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, 57-year-old Randy Len Brown was arrested for theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, operating a chop shop and felony violation of probation for methamphetamine when a tip led deputies to a location in the county where he had allegedly brought a stolen vehicle from DeKalb.

They found that car, a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, but it had been cut into several pieces. In addition to the charges he faced in Jackson County, Brown also had warrants out of Braselton for a traffic violation and Doraville for violation of probation.
