SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — A man was taken to custody on Tuesday in connection to the 2023 shooting death of a 28-year-old man in South Fulton, according to police.
City of South Fulton Police said that they issued nine felony warrants for Demetris Clay in connection to the death of Jaron Algere.
Officers responded to the intersection of Oakley Industrial Blvd. and Parkaire Place on July 10, 2023. When officers arrived, they found Algere shot and killed.
On Tuesday at 6 a.m., authorities with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and South Fulton Fugitive Unit arrested Clay.
Clay is facing charges including murder, four counts of aggravated assault, six counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, cruelty to children and felony criminal damage, tampering with evidence and sale or purchase of controlled substances.
He also faces eight additional charges. It's unclear if the extra charges are connected to the same incident.
