COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Police are searching for whoever opened fire outside a Burger King in the 5000 block of Old National Highway.
11Alive was tipped off last Friday after a video showed College Park Police had a portion of the fast-food chain's parking lot roped off with yellow crime scene tape. As of Tuesday night, College Park Police has not responded to requests regarding what happened.
Then, "BigDawg Chino," as he goes by on Instagram, posted a video of what he described to be a shooting that prompted the police response to the Burger King. He captioned it, "Lady Shot Over Burger."
Fortunately, no one was actually shot, but he explained how it all unfolded from his vantage point.
He said he stopped by BK on his way to a studio because he was hungry.
"I got my food fast, and there were already some people waiting on their food," he explained.
"BigDawg Chino" said he noticed there were people outside waiting on their food. He said while he was inside eating, the group came inside and were upset.
"It was really because they took too long with their burger," he said.
He added they also mentioned the employees messing up their orders for a second time. He said he pulled out his cell phone and started recording the confrontation between the customers and the Burger King employees.
"I'm like, 'They about to fight,"' he said.
However, as he explained, he wasn't expecting what would happen next.
"I didn't know what was about to happen, though; I didn't know that."
The video shows one person pulling out a handgun near the counter of the fast food chain.
"She pulled it (gun) out, she pulled it out in line, that’s what she did in line," he explained what he saw.
The footage then displays the group walking outside, and he said at one point, the person who pulled the gun inside handed off the gun to a man wearing all black. Once those two walked past one another and "BigDawg Chino" walked toward the door, a shot fired can be heard in the video.
"I thought they got shot," he said.
Then, as he gets closer to the door, he points his phone outside, where one can see a man armed with a pistol pointing the gun into the restaurant, and then seconds later, one can hear another shot fired.
"I've seen a lot of stuff in my life; I've never seen nobody want to do something to somebody over a burger," he explained.
The good news is he said no one was actually shot, even though the shooter was so close to several people inside and outside the Burger King.
"I'm thankful; I'm glad he was not a good shooter," he said.
11Alive reached out to the College Park Police Department again on Tuesday afternoon for an update on the investigation but has still not heard back from anyone at the police department.
