ATLANTA — A man is facing murder charges in connection to a deadly shooting inside a neighborhood grocery store in Atlanta.
Kortez Ragland, 19, was charged in connection to a shooting that claimed the life of Toddrick Lamar, 20, and injured another after an argument led to gunfire at the Grocery Brothers (Family Grocery Store LLC) on Metropolitan Parkway SW. The grocery store is located in Atlanta's Adair Park neighborhood, not far from Kindezi at Gideons Elementary School.
On Sep. 23, Atlanta police officers responded to the store and found two men shot. One of the men, later identified as Lamar, was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene, and the other was taken to Grady Hospital in stable condition, police said.
APD Lt. Homicide Commander Andrew Smith said surveillance video shows the two men got into an argument and began shooting at each other. Smith said investigators believe at least five shots were fired.
Ragland is charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was already being held in the Fulton County Jail on unrelated charges at the time of the charges.
