Arrest made after man found shot to death in Midtown Atlanta alley, police say

ATLANTA — An arrest has been made after a man was found shot to death in an alley in Midtown Atlanta early Sunday morning, according to the police department. 

Officers responded to a shots fired call at 1150 Crescent Ave NE, across from South City Kitchen in Midtown, shortly after 1:45 a.m. 

APD said officers working in the area saw the suspect and quickly took him into custody without incident. Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Ricky Hutchinson. 

Investigators found the victim in a nearby alley with a gunshot wound. Grady EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead, according to police.

APD homicide investigators said they found "probable cause" to charge Hutchinson. He faces murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony charges.
