PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies are searching for a man who allegedly shot an 18-year-old woman to death at a mobile home community in Paulding County on Saturday morning.
The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Devon Gandy. However, Gandy has an identical twin brother who deputies said was not involved in the alleged crime at all. Deputies said Gandy should be considered "armed and dangerous" and should not be approached by anyone.
Paulding 911 received several calls Saturday morning just after 9 a.m. regarding gunshots being heard in the Nebo Ridge Estates mobile home community. They received a call shortly after about someone had been shot.
Once deputies got to the neighborhood, they found the residence along Barbee Path in Hiram where they found the teen, identified as 18-year-old Katherine Castillo-Martinez, lying on the ground inside critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died.
Investigators found out there was a dispute between multiple people who were at the mobile home that morning when Castillo-Martinez was shot and killed.
Deputies said Gandy is on the run and the United States Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Paulding County Sheriff's Office are searching for Gandy.
Those who see Gandy are asked to either call 911 or the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Tip Line at 770-443-3047.
