Man shot to death walking home from shopping, East Point Police says

The deadly shooting happened on Jan. 12 in the area of Farley Street and Headland Drive.

EAST POINT, Ga. — The East Point Police Department and Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta are offering up to $2,000 for any information leading to an arrest and indictment in a homicide investigation. 

The incident happened on Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. East Point Police went to the area of Farley Street and Headland Drive about a person shot call. When they arrived, officers located a man on the street who was shot to death. He was later identified as Michael Lee, according to a press release. 

The investigation revealed that Lee was walking home after shopping at nearby stores when he was hit by a single gunshot, according to police.

East Point Police investigators are asking for help from anyone who may know about this incident. 

Any information can be anonymously submitted to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477). It can also be submitted online or by texting the tip to CRIMES(274637). People do not need to give their name or any other identifying information to be eligible to receive the reward.
