ATLANTA — A man is dead and a suspect is on the run following a shooting in Atlanta's Mechanicsville neighborhood on Tuesday morning, according to police.
Atlanta Police said officers responded to the 400 block of Glenn Street SW around 11 a.m. after receiving a call about a man shot. When officers showed up, they found a man who had been shot multiple times.
Grady EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Atlanta Police said its initial investigation shows that a suspect got out of a vehicle and opened fire on the man. After shooting him several times, police said he got back in the car and drove off.
